Abstract:Cellulose flexible gel materials (MPCs) were prepared with cellulose powder and acrylamide as monomers, potassium persulfate as initiator and N,N-methylene diacrylamide as crosslinking agent. Then hydrophobic cellulose flexible gel materials (T-MPCs) were prepared via hydrophobic modification for MPCs and used to adsorb and separate phenol in solution. The influence factors, adsorption machanism of phenol adsorption by T-MPCs were studied by changing the pH value of solution, initial concentration of phenol solution, and adsorbent dosage. The results showed that T-MPCs were flexible gel materials with porous surface. The equilibrium adsorption capacity of phenol by T-MPCs was 148.9 mg/g, when the adsorption temperature was 25 ℃, pH value of solution 7.0, adsorption time 360 min, initial concentration of phenol 200 mg/L, and T-MPCs dosage 1000 mg/L. The adsorption process was in accordance with the pseudo-second order kinetic and Freundlich isothermal adsorption models. The adsorption capacity of phenol by T-MPCs decreased by 15.2% after 5 cycles of regeneration, indicating it is of good regeneration ability. |
