Abstract:Taking the kraft bamboo pulp as research object, bamboo fibers and non-fibrous cells were separated by fiber classifier. The fiber morphology and properties of bamboo pulp with different non-fibrous cell contents during beating process were analyzed. The effect of non-fibrous cells on the morphology of bamboo fibers was investigated. The results showed that the balloon-like structure formed by non-fibrous cells and bamboo fibers rubbed against each other during beating process, which influenced the performance of bamboo pulp. Under the same beating revolutions, the higher the non-fibrous cell content, the worse the water filtration performance of bamboo pulp, and the smaller the fiber width. Non-fibrous cells aggravated the external fibrillation of bamboo fibers and the production of fines, and easily entangled with the fines produced on the surface of bamboo fiber, which reduced the water filtering performance of bamboo pulp.
