Abstract:Biomass-based functional materials have advantages of sustainability, bio-degradability and non-toxicity. Recently, the use of biomass components for the preparation of hydrogel functional materials has become a hot topic of research in the field of materials. The latest research progress of several biomass components (cellulose, lignin, starch, and tannic acid) and their derivatives for the preparation of hydrogel functional materials were reviewed in this paper, and the applications of biomass-based components and their derivatives in hydrogel functional materials were summarized and prospected, with a view of providing references for the green development of new functional materials.
