Abstract:Using three kinds of growth-ages of Dendrocalamus latiflorus Munro as raw materials, the effect of growth-age on chemical components was analysized, and their pulping performances and handsheet properties were evaluated by kraft cooking, sieving, and pulping experiments. The results showed that the holocellulose content, extractives contents (cold water, hot water, and 1% NaOH solution) of bamboo chips gradually decreased with growth-age. The content of benzyl alcohol extractive decreased slightly with growth-age. The contents of Klason lignin, acid soluble lignin, and total lignin increased with growth-age. The lignin concentration in the black liquor gradually increased with growth-age under the same pulping conditions. The screened pulp yield, the pulp brightness, and the content of residual alkali in the black liquor gradually decreased with growth-age. The cooking crude residue rate and the Kappa number of pulp gradually increased with growth-age. Under the same level of beating degree, the tensile index and bursting index of handsheets of 1-year-old and 2-year-old bamboo pulps were similar and greater than those of 4-year-old bamboo pulp. The tear index and folding endurance of paper gradually decreased with growth-age. |
