Abstract:Nanocellulose (CNF, ECNF, and TCNF) prepared from softwood via different methods were used as the raw materials in this study. The aerogels were prepared by freeze drying and modified by impregnating with stearoyl chloride (SAC) solution. The results showed that particle size and charge distribution of TCNF were more uniform. The SAC modification had not changed the characteristics of lightweight and porous with porosity of 99.4%. The modified nanocellulose aerogels showed excellent hydrophobicity and great oil absorption ability. The S-ECNFA aerogel hydrophobic modified by SAC had the best hydrophobicity with the contact angle of 151.6°. S-TCNFA had the greatest oil absorption capacity with the edible oil adsorption capacity of 48.96 g/g aerogel, and had good recyclability. After 5 times reused, the adsorption capacity towards edible oil of S-TCNFA could still reach 60.8% of the initial adsorption capacity. |
