Abstract:As a revolutionary new manufacturing technology, 3D printing has bright prospects and a promising future. Printing materials, the focus of 3D printing research, still need to be explored in order to meet diverse needs. As the most common natural polymer in nature and a major component of plants, cellulose has multiple advantages and great potential in the preparation of bio-based products. Currently, the research of cellulose as 3D printing material has become a hot spot in the field and has received high attention. In this paper, the literatures of cellulose and its derivatives as 3D printing materials were synthesised, the roles and functions of cellulose and its derivatives in printing materials, as well as the applications of cellulose-based printing materials in 3D printing were summarised, and the challenges and prospects of cellulose-based printing materials in 3D printing were analysed.
