Abstract:The bleached hardwood pulp after ozone bleaching at high, medium, and low consistency under laboratory conditions were obtained, of which the physical properties, crystallinity, and carboxyl content were compared. The results showed that pulp consistency had significant effects on the properties of bleached pulp. When the pulp consistency was 3%, bleached pulp was obtained with whiteness of 39.7%,viscosity of 745 mL/g and Kappa value of 12.6. Compared with the bleached pulp after ozone bleaching at medium and high consistency, the selectivity of the bleached pulp after ozone bleaching at low consistency was highest of 2.07, indicating that ozone bleaching at low-consistency could not only prevent the decrease of pulp viscosity, but also protect the crystalline area of cellulose to a certain extent. And ozone utilization rate of ozone bleaching at low consistency was up to 96.5%, higher than which at medium and high consistency.
