Abstract:The effects of microporous coatings and swellable coatings on the printing and heat transferring properties of sublimation paper were explored, and the two types of coating formulations were optimized to obtain the best printing and heat transfering performance. Optimum formula of microporous coating was SiO2 with 88 part as pigment and polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)as adhesive. Optimum formula of swellable coating was SiO2 with 30 part as pigment, and CMC with 70 part as adhesive. Compared with the optimal formula of the two types of coating, microporous coating sublimation paper with better air permeability, flatness, and line sharpness, faster drying speed (45 s), was suitable for hard substrate printing, swellable coating sublimation paper with 10% higher optical density, less ink consumption and low cost, was suitable for digital printing of fabric. |
