Abstract:Light source is one of important part in the paper defect diagnosis system based on machine vision. The optical properties of paper and light source characteristics were carried out in this paper， of which the characteristics were analyzed to explore the best cooperation relationship between them. Finally， the match of the light source module was determined through experiment and running state of system. The results showed that the light source designed in this study could collect the normal paper images with uniform background grayscall， of which the target had high contrast when image acquisition for low-speed and narrow-web paper machines.
