Abstract:Papermaking white mud from alkali recovery in papermaking process is a general industrial solid waste， and its main component is calcium carbonate. Under the current situation that the strategy of protecting mineral resources is being enphasized continuously， papermaking white mud can be used as a valuable resource to replace limestone. This study analyzed the characteristics， actual generation， and utilization of typical papermaking white mud in Guangxi based on the field investigation results of major pulp enterprises in Nanning， Laibin， Liuzhou， and Qinzhou （the total pulping capacities of investigated enterprises accounted for more than 70% of the total capacities of all pulp enterprises in Guangxi in 2020）. Through analyzing main problems existing in current industrialized utilization of papermaking white mud， countermeasures and suggestions from the aspects of technologies， standards， and policies were put forward in order to provide reference for promoting the comprehensive utilization of papermaking white mud.
