Abstract:In order to investigate the application of the 2 equal proportional compound adhesives of guar gum with CMC and xanthan gum with HPMC for the dry tobacco reconstituted tobacco, the 4 kinds of adhesive raw materials and the dry reconstituted tobacco were analyzed by TG and DSC, the longitudinal tensile strength and thermal cracking characteristics were also tested. The results showed that the duration and rate of thermal weight loss of the 4 kinds of adhesives were similar to each other within the room temperature to 350℃. The 4 kinds of adhesives or their pastes were stable from 15℃ to 230℃. The components in the compound adhesive had good compatibility, which could improve the tensile strength of the reconstituted tobacco. The dry reconstituted tobacco prepared with guar gum and CMC in equal proportions had the advantages of low release of nicotine (1.98%), high release of aroma-causing ingredients(4.04%), low release of irritating or toxic ingredients(2.39%) and high longitudinal tensile strength(0.54 kN/m).
