Abstract:The effects of blending polyester, Tencel, and viscose fiber with softwood pulp on the strength, air permeability, softness, and Cobb value of disposable medical pad sheet paper were analyzed. Meanwhile, the effects of beating degree of softwood pulp, length and dosage of polyester fiber, type of impregnation solution, and wrinkling treatment on the properties of pad sheet paper were studied. The results showed that the paper containing Tencel fiber had lower strength and softness, the paper containing viscose fiber had lower air permeability, while polyester fiber was more suitable for preparing pad sheet paper. Moreover, polyester fiber which had a length of 10 mm was more conducive to the strength, softness, and air permeability of the paper than that of its 5 mm counterpart. The increase of beating degree of softwood pulp was beneficial to strength but not conducive to air permeability and softness, and 20°SR was a feasible value for beating degree. When the polyester content was 20%, the paper had high strength, good uniformity, softness, and air permeability. Using different emulsion(R1, R2, and R3) to impregnate paper, the strength order of impregnated papers was R3>R1>R2, water resistance order R1>R3>R2, and the wrinkled strength order R3>>R1>R2. Impregnate base paper with mixed R1 and R3 emulsion of 1∶1 ratio to prepare pad sheet paper, the paper had good strength and water resistance after wrinkling, and the properties were comparable to the imported medical pad sheet paper. |
