Abstract:Bamboo cellulose (BC) was dissolved by N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide (NMMO) and the regenerated bamboo cellulose (RBC) hollow fiber membrane was prepared via dry-wet spinning method. The pilot membrane system with prepared RBC hollow fiber membrane was adopted for the advanced treatment of drinking water. The results showed that the crystalline structure of the RBC hollow fiber membrane was cellulose type II, the crystallinity was lower than that of BC. The chemical composition of the RBC hollow fiber membrane was similar to that of BC and showed the excellent thermal stability and mechanical properties with initial thermal decomposition temperature of 329.8℃ and tensile strength of (62.6±6.1) MPa. After the treatment of drinking water (90 days of operation), the TDS value decreased from 574 mg/L to 154 mg/L and the total number of bacteria from 35~40 cfu/mL to 20~25 cfu/mL; the effluent’s taste was excellent with high biological safety. |
