Abstract:The effects of Ca2+, Cu2+, Fe2+, Fe3+, Mn2+ and Mg2+ on Fock reactivity of bamboo dissolving pulp were studied. Using acid-alone treatment and then introducing the diethylene triamine pentaacetic acid (DTPA) into the acid treatment to process dissolving pulp, the effects of pH value and DTPA amount on Fock reactivity, ash content, brightness and polymerization degree were investigated. For dissolving pulp, metal ions, especially iron ions, significantly deteriorated the reactivity of bamboo dissolving pulp. Decreasing pH value was beneficial to improve reactivity of bamboo dissolving pulp. In the meantime, the ash content and polymerization degree of bamboo pulp decreased gradually, and the whiteness increased continuously.Under the optimum pH value of 3.0, Fock reactivity increased from 68.3% to 72.7%, while further acid treatment combined with DTPA had very little effect on improving Fock reactivity. |
