Abstract:In this paper, the structural changes of lignin-carbohydrate complex (LCC) in alkaline hydrogen peroxide mechanical pulping (APMP) (including pulping and bleaching) were studied. The results showed that the extraction rate of LCC increased after refining, the absolute mass increased by about 2.6 times, the connection between lignin and hemicellulose in LCC increased, the mass ratio of lignin increased from 7.29% to 9.04%, and the mass ratio of glucose decreased significantly. After bleaching, LCC was affected by the dissolution of lignin and hemicellulose, the extraction rate and absolute quality decreased, and the mass ratio of lignin in LCC increased to 25.07%. The bleached LCC molecules would partially disintegrate and recombine, and the molecular weight distribution would appear obvious “peak separation”, the polydispersity would be doubled, and the molecular weight would decrease. During APMP pulping process, the retention of lignin by LCC would hinder the improvement of pulp brightness and accelerate the yellowing.
