Abstract:In this study, kraft bamboo pulp was used to explore the effects of non-fibrous cells on fiber morphology, beating degree, water retention value and paper properties of kraft bamboo pulp before and after beating. The results showed that the content of non-fibrous cells in bamboo pulp had a significant impact on the beating performance. Under the same number of beating revolutions, the beating degree, water retention value and fiber kink of bamboo pulp were improved obviously, while the degree of fiber curl and fibrillation were decreased with the increase of non-fibrous cells content. Under the similar beating degree, with the increase of non-fibrous cells content, the burst index, tear index and folding endurance of bamboo pulp paper showed a downward trend, and the tensile index was the best when the non-fibrous cells content was 3%, reaching 78.3 N·m/g.
