Abstract:Based on the “Web of Science Core Collection” database, the visualization software CiteSpace was used to visually sort and analyze the publishing institutions, publishing institutions, and publications related to carbon emissions in the paper industry from 1995 to 2022, including the authors, keywords, etc., to explore the background characteristics, historical research topics and future research directions of carbon emissions research in the paper industry. The results showed that at present, the number of research papers on carbon emissions in the global paper industry was increasing, and China, United States, Sweden, and Finland were the core of scientific research strength, with the most published articles and the most active enthusiasm of international cooperation. The research hotspots could be mainly summarized as that climate impact and sustainable development, energy efficiency and carbon emissions treatment. The research context of carbon emissions in the paper industry was analyzed with theoretical framework and factors, gradually evolved into background research and data-oriented quantitative analysis.
