Abstract:In this study, a sequencing batch biofilter granular reactor (SBBGR) was used to cultivate and domesticate aerobic granular sludge and was applied to treat secondary effluent from recycled fiber paper making wastewater, to investigate the removal of pollutants from the wastewater and to analyze the changes of microbial populations in the reactor. The results showed that the effluent CODCr could be reduced to (95±22) mg/L with a removal rate of (47.7±5.0)% at the influent CODCr and BOD5 of (190±33.4) mg/L and (7.2±1.7) mg/L. The FT-IR and GC-MS analysis showed that SBBGR had effective removal of the characteristic pollutants represented by aromatic compounds. Microbial community analysis showed that the relative abundance of micro organisms with the ability of degrading aromatic compounds in wastewater was increased in the sludge after domestication, and SBBGR had the ability to degrade lignin. |
