Abstract:Kraft bamboo pulp was used as the research object in this study, the contents of each fraction of bamboo pulp were determined after classification, and the beating characteristics and paper properties of bamboo pulp before and after sieving out the fine components were studied and compared with bleached kraft softwood pulp and bleached kraft hardwood pulp (wood pulps). The results showed that the content of long fiber fractions and fine fraction in bamboo pulp was higher, of which the content of R16 and P200 were 50.8% and 25.1%, respectively. During the PFI beating, bamboo pulp fibers were more likely to be cut and kinked than wood pulp fibers at the same beating revolutions. The fine components in bamboo pulp could be beneficial to the reduction of pulp freeness and the improvement of pulp water retention value, reducing the energy consumption of beating. Under the same freeness, the tensile index and tearing index of bamboo pulp and bamboo pulp after sieving out the fine components were greater than that of wood pulps. The burst resistance index of bamboo pulp and the folding endurance of bamboo pulp sieving out the fine components were greater than that of wood pulps. |
