Abstract:In this study, nitrogen doped carbon aerogel (NCA) electrocatalyst with hierarchical pore structure was successfully prepared by using cellulose nanofibril(CNF) as carbon framework and g-C3N4 with high nitrogen compound as nitrogen source and pore-forming agent. The physicochemical structure, oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activity of NCA were investigated, and properties of zinc-air battery based on NCA were also studied.NCA revealed hierarchical pore structure with high specific surface area of 381.77 m²/g, and successful nitrogen doping with nitrogen doping content of 3.27%. NCA displayed excellent ORR performances with high half-wave potential of 0.83 V, which was close to that of commercial platinum-based electrocatalyst. The zinc-air battery in water phase using the NCA as a cathode material exhibited long-term stability for more than 110 h at a current density of 10 mA/cm2, showing a good battery serviceability. |
