| Abstract:Bulk as an important technical indicator of reconstituted tobacco sheets (RTS) can influence absorption, air permeability of RTS and thus affecting the properties of cigarette. Increasing the bulk of RTS can not only improve the absorption of the coating liquid by the substrate, the smoking and filling performance of cigarettes, but also contribute to decrease the basis weight and production cost. This paper summarizes the technological progress of improving the bulk of the RTS from the aspects of raw material component and process optimization. In addition, some new technologies developed in recent years were also introduced. |
