Abstract:The bio-based materials egg white protein, phytic acid and citric acid were used to modify ammonium polyphosphate (APP) to prepare the composite flame retardant (APP@EP-CA). The flame-retardant paper was prepared by blending flame retardant with pulp, and the effects of different compositions of flame retardants on the flame retardant properties and comprehensive properties of paper were discussed. The results showed that the residual mass of APP@EP-CA2.5 reached 48.4% at 700℃, which was significantly higher than that of APP. The LOI value of flame-retardant paper added with APP@EP-CA2.5 (Pulp-2.5) increased from 19.6% to 40.8%, and the char length was only 46 mm.Compared with the flame-retardant paper added with APP, the peak heat release rate of Pulp-2.5 decreased from 139.75 kW/m2 to 88.85 kW/m2, and the total heat release rate decreased from 32.03 MJ/m2 to 24.21 MJ/m2, indicating that APP@EP-CA2.5 could significantly improve the flame retardant effect of paper. In addition, Pulp-2.5 had a tensile index of 47.8 N·m/g and a contact angle of 108.5°, illustrating that it exhibited both good mechanical and hydrophobic property. |
