Abstract:The meta-aramid paper was prepared by foam forming technology in this work, and the correlation between the type of surfactants and the foam properties and aramid paper performance was investigated. The foam formed by non-ionic surfactant was the most stable with the same air content. With forming concentration of 0.4% in the Tween foam forming system, the evenness index of aramid paper reached 103. Compared with traditional wet-formed aramid paper, the evenness index was largely increased with the water consumption reduced by 9 times. After hot pressing, the breakdown strength of aramid paper prepared by foam forming system could reach or even surpass the value of traditional wet-formed aramid paper. |
