Abstract:A new weak-oxidation bactericide was applied on a domestic toilet paper machine with an annual output of 50000 tons, and its application effect was compared with the traditional bactericide. The results showed that the weak-oxidation bactericide had obvious advantages in comparison with the traditional bactericide and could be used to significantly reduce the number of microorganisms like bacteria and fungi in the papermaking system. The microorganisms were well controlled and the system became cleaner. Compared with the application in other kinds of paper, the effect of this weak-oxidation bactericide used for the microbial control of toilet paper was still lower than expected. It may be due to the lower pulp concentration used in the production process of toilet paper, which resulted in the lower effective concentration of bactericide for the same amount of paper.
