Abstract:Nanocellulose is a green biomass material with many excellent properties and widely used in catalysis, optics, sensing, energy storage, and other material fields. Nanocellulose colloids are prone to flocculate even at low concentration and difficult to be dispersed after being dried. The dispersion and redispersion of nanocellulose are the direct factors that determine its large-scale production, storage, transportation, functional modification, and application. This study summarized factors influencing, expounded research methods and achievements improving the dispersion and redispersion of nanocellulose. Physical or chemical method to modify nanocellulose was proposed to solve the problems of dispersion and redispersion that need to be solved urgently in the industrial application of high-concentration/dry nanocellulose, so as to play a good theoretical guidance role in the large-scale production, modification, and application of nanocellulose.
