Abstract:Polyarylate microfiber was first prepared by the mechanical shear method from polyarylate chopped fiber. Then the polyarylate fiber base paper was prepared by wet dispersion of polyarylate microfiber assisted vacuum filtration. Finally, polyarylate fiber paper was prepared by hot-pressing progress from polyarylate fiber base paper. The effects of different hot-pressing temperatures on the mechanical properties and dielectric properties of polyarylate fiber paper were studied. The results demonstrated that when the hot-pressing temperature was 260℃, the mechanical properties and electric strength of polyarylate fiber paper reached the highest. The tensile strength and elastic modulus were 65 MPa and 1.32 GPa, respectively, and the electrical strength reached 43.1 kV/mm. At the same time, polyarylate fiber paper presented high thermal stability, low dielectric constant and dielectric loss.
