Abstract:The effects of the addition method and dosage of xanthan gum, pullulan, dextran and α-cyclodextrin on the strength and air permeability of high porous filter plug wrapping paper were studied. The results showed that the strengthening effect of pullulan on high porous filter plug wrapping paper was significantly better than that of the other three kinds of polysaccharides, and impregnation was more conducive to the improvement of strength performance than adding into pulp for increasing paper strength. High porous filter plug wrapping paper with different air permeability was prepared from softwood pulp with different beating degree, mixed pulp of softwood pulp and mercerized pulp, and mixed pulp of softwood pulp and viscose fiber, and then impregnated with pullulan. The results showed that the strength increased while the air permeability did not change significantly with the increasing of the gluing amount of pullulan. Compared with non-impregnated paper, when the gluing amount of pullulan was about 3 g/m2, the tensile strength of paper prepared by softwood pulp with beating degree of 15°SR,18°SR, 21°SR was increased by 69.9%, 69.2% and 67.5%, respectively. The tensile strength of paper prepared by mixed 18°SR softwood pulp and mercerized pulp, viscose fiber was increased by 96.5% and 126.0%, respectively.
