Abstract:Acryloyloxyethyl trimethyl ammonium chloride (DAC), acrylamide (AM) and glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) were used as raw materials, water and propylene glycol methyl ether were used as solvents, ammonium persulfate was used as initiator to synthesize a kind of self-crosslinking polymer MCPAM with strong cationicity, and its application in the sizing was studied. The effect of DAC and GMA contents on physicochemical properties of MCPAM and its enhancement to paper was discussed, and the mechanism of MCPAM in the wet end chemistry of papermaking was analyzed. The results showed that when the content of DAC in MCPAM was 14% and the content of GMA in MCPAM was 2.6%, the average particle size of MCPAM was 141.6 nm, the viscosity was 426.75 mPa·s, and the cationicity was 15.7%. In addition, its papermaking enhancement effect was the best. When the adding amount of MCPAM was 1.6%, the dry tensile index of the paper could reach 98.8 N·m/g, the wet tensile index could reach 19.2 N·m/g, the folding endurance could reach 134 times, and the tearing index could reach 12.1 N·m2/g, compared with original paper, it was increased by 68%, 300%, 346%, 35%, respectively. |
