Abstract:In this paper, the effect of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) reinforced fiber on the improvement of physical properties of textured base paper was studied. The results showed that the interlayer bonding strength and tensile strength of the textured base paper contented 1.5% PVA reinforced fiber were 337 J/m2 and 7.35 kN/m, which were 40.4% and 53.1% higher than that of blank sample (without PVA reinforced fiber). Meanwhile, there was no obvious negative effect on other physical properties of the textured base paper. In the comparative experiment, when the 1.5% enhancer 500 was added, the interlayer bonding strength and tensile strength of the textured base paper were increased by 12.2% and 6.5%, respectively, and the enhancement effect was not significant.
