| Abstract:The water adsorption capacities, retention properties and adsorption mechanism of heated cigarette sheet substrates prepared by slurry-papermaking method, slurry method, papermaking method and wet papermaking method were studied via dynamic vapor sorption experiments. The results indicated that the product prepared by slurry method exhibited better water retention performance with adsorption capacity of 38.07% at RH=0.85, and that prepared by papermaking method exhibited most water adsorption capacity of 43.17%. Furthermore, the mesoporous structure was beneficial to reduce the water loss rate of the substrate to improve its water retention performance. The adsorption equilibrium process and adsorption kinetics process were analyzed, and it was found that the adsorption process of vapor on the substrates corresponded Freundlich model and Henderson model, and the adsorption kinetic corresponded pseudo-first-order kinetic model, indicating it was a physical adsorption control process. |
