Abstract:The effects of different organic acid metal salts (potassium citrate, potassium acetate, potassium oxalate, potassium tartrate, sodium citrate, and the mix of sodium citrate and potassium citrate (mass ratio of 1:1) mixture) on the pyrolysis characteristics of cigarette papers were investigated. The mechanism of the influence of organic acid metal salts on the pyrolysis of cigarette paper was studied via scanning electron microscope and thermogravimetric/differential thermal analysis. The results showed that the above 6 kinds of organic acid metal salts all contributed to the pyrogenation of cigarette paper and produced dense pores, accelerated the diffusion of smoke and promoted the emission of CO. Potassium salts were the best organic acid metal salts for reducing the activation energy required for pyrolysis of cigarette paper. The higher the potassium salt content, the easier the pyrolysis reaction of cigarette paper occured at low temperature. |
