Abstract:Corn stalk was pretreated with potassium hydroxide and refined to prepare chemi mechanical pulp. The physicochemical properties of the preimpregnation effluent, the physical properties of handsheets made by varying the ratio of corn stalk chemimechanical pulp and Sinocalamus affinis semi-chemical pulp, their synergistic effect and feasibility of preparing corrugated base paper at different beating revolution were discussed. The results showed that the preimpregnation effluent of corn stalk chemi-mechanical pulp could be used as organic and compound fertilizers. Compared with Sinocalamus affinis semi-chemical pulp, corn stalk chemi-mechanical pulp had higher bulk, lower tensile index, burst index, and ring crush index. Adding the Sinocalamus affinis semi-chemical pulp into the corn stalk chemi-mechanical pulp could improve the strength index of the handsheet, and reduce the handsheet bulk. When the proportion of corn stalk chemi-mechanical pulp in the mixed pulp was less than 50%, the synergistic effect affects the bonding strength between fibers, and the tested tensile index of the mixed pulp was slightly higher than the calculated value. When the proportion of Sinocalamus affinis semi-chemical pulp was 20% in the mixed pulp with the freeness of corn stalk chemi-mechanical pulp was less than 380 mL, the technical index of this as-prepared handsheet could reach the required standard of the qualified corrugated medium.
