| Abstract:The basic performance indicators of three pigments (Brazilian kaolin CENTURY, American kaolin KAOFINE and Yueyang Huatai ground calcium carbonate C95) including particle size, brightness, pH value, moisture, and 325 sieve residues were tested. The influence of different pigments on the quality and performance of the lightweight coated paper were studied. The application effects of different pigments in lightweight coated paper were investigated. The results showed that light coated paper with mixture coating including 22.5% Brazilian kaolin CENTURY, 7.5% American kaolin KAOFINE and 70% Huatai ground calcium carbonate C95 had better performance of gloss, ink adsorption and surface strength. Thus, the mixture coating had excellent comprehensive performance towards light coated paper. |
