Abstract:Self-assembly technology possesses the advantages of simple principle, convenient operation and easy control, has been widely used in the preparation of cellulose derivatives and nanocrystalline functional materials, such as drug release, electrode flexible membranes, batteries, and capacitors. In this paper, the latest research on the preparation of functional materials via self-assembly from cellulose derivatives, such as carboxymethyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, and nanocellulose, such as cellulose nanocrystal, cellulose nanofiber and bacterial cellulose has been reviewed. The preparation methods, properties, advantages and disadvantages of functional materials has been summarized, providing the valuable guidance for the novel research and development of preparing cellulose-based functional materials.
