Abstract:This review introduced the methods of preparing 2D membrane materials and 3D gel materials by using nanocellulose modified with amino groups, carboxyl groups, thiol groups and other functional groups, and also by the composite of nanocellulose and other materials. The properties of prepared 2D membrane materials and 3D gel materials were also presented. The application progress of removing heavy metal ions in water environment were discussed. It was also expected that the preparation of nanocellulose-based adsorbents should tend to be simpler, with more diversified applications, and more convenient and environmentally friendly regeneration.
