| Abstract:This paper described examples of equations employed in pulp and paper science to predict the influences of key variables on pro-ducts and processes. Some equations were derived long ago in other scientific disciplines and adapted for use in pulp and paper technology. Other equations were developed by pulp and paper researchers from basic principles to meet unique needs not addressed in the existing scientific literature. The origin, meaning, and uses of the equations were described briefly.Among them, "Crowding Number for Pulp Fiber Flocculation" was rarely mentioned before. |
