| Abstract:The effect of defibration pretreatment on the reconstituted tobacco pulp and the bulk and uniformity of the reconstituted tobacco sheet was analyzed. The tobacco stems were treated with mild, moderate and heavy defibrillation under the current of 80, 100 and 120 A, respectively. The results showed that defibration could improve the beating performance of tobacco pulp. However, insufficient or excessive defibration was not conducive to the maintenance of fiber length and coarseness. A moderate defibration could significantly reduce the number of beating stages and save energy consumption. Two to three stages beating should be suitable after defibration. Using two stages beating, along with deepening the defibrillation degree, the formation coefficient of the tobacco sheet reduced from 336.1 to 277.8, and the formation increased by 17.35%, at the same time, the bulk reduced from 2.15 cm3/g to 1.91 cm3/g, reduced by 11.16%. Moderate defibrillation pretreatment was used to meet the requirements of bulk and formation of the reconstituted tobacco. |
