Abstract:Hydroxyapatite (HAP) is a kind of major mineral component of vertebrate bones and teeth. HAP nanoparticles (HAP NPs)can be widely applied in the bio-medical field, papermaking and adsorption catalysis areas etc.because of their excellent biocompatibility, non-toxic, pollution-free, excellent ion exchange performance and high temperature resistance. This paper briefly introduced the structure and synthetic routes of HAP NPs. Then the preparation progress of HAP NPs/ cellulose composites in the recent years and its latest application progress in bio-medical field, adsorption and papermaking areas were reviewed, this paper also prospected the development trends of hydroxyapatite composites in functional material areas.
