Abstract:Improving the bulk of reconstituted tobacco sheet can effectively improve its absorbability of coating solution and the filling performance of cigarette, which is of great significance to reduce harmful ingredients and tar content of cigarette. In this work, tobacco stem particles were prepared by screening with different meshes. Four types of tobacco stem particles with different sizes, i.e. d1> 60 mesh, 80 mesh <d2≤60 mesh, 120 mesh <d3≤80 mesh, 200 mesh <d4≤120 mesh were used as filler during preparation of reconstituted tobacco sheets. The influence of the stem particle size on the physical properties of reconstituted tobacco sheet was investigated. Results showed that four kinds of stem particles could improve the bulk and permeability of the reconstituted tobacco sheet. The bulk of the reconstituted tobacco sheet filled with d1 stem particles increased 8.31% compared with the sheets without stem particles. The tensile index of reconstituted tobacco sheets increased with decreasing stem particle size. In addition, the stem particles with d1 and d2 size also improved the softness of the base sheets to some extent. |
