Abstract:The paper with talc as filler was prepared under acidic condition, and the influence of talc on paper properties during hygrothermal aging was studied. At the same time, using borax as the deacidification agent, polyamide polyamine epichlorohydrin(PAE) as the reinforcing agent to prepare deacidification enhancement agent and study its deacidification and enhancement effect in different borax/PAE ratio. The research showed that after accelerated aging, with the increasement of the talc powder added, the decreasing rate of pH decreased, while the decreasing rate of tensile index increased significantly. When the total dosage was of borax/PAE 2 g/m2 and the ratio of borax/PAE was 1.5∶1, the effect of deacidification and enhancement was relatively the best. Paper pH increased from 5.10 to 8.28, the tensile index increased from 17.5 N·m/g to 24.4 N·m/g. The results showed that the deacidification and enforcement agent effectively improved the paper performance, delayed the acid aging of the paper, and had no negative effect on the printed patterns of paper documents.
