Abstract:In this article, research progress on the mechanisms of bleaching and modification of non-wood pulp fibers were reviewed. Herein, the study progress on the changes of fiber properties, such as fiber morphology, viscosity, brightness, crystallinity and lignin content of non-wood fibers (e.g., straw fibers, bagasse fibers, bamboo pulp fibers, cotton and jute fibers) before and after ozone treatment were mainly reviewed. In addition, the study progress on the changes of pollutants content in waste water from the ozone treatment of non-wood fibers was also reviewed. At last, the new development and application of ozone treatment in bleaching and modification of non-wood fibers were also summarized. |
