Abstract:As a kind of renewable nanomaterial with abundant sources, cellulose nanofibrils (CNF) have the advantages of excellent mechanical properties, high specific surface area and chemical modifiability. CNF-based hydrogel prepared through physical and chemical crosslinking have good mechanical properties and swelling ratio. The CNF-based hydrogels have good application prospects in the field of industrial wastewater treatment. This paper mainly addresses the preparation methods and properties of pure CNF hydrogels and CNF nanocomposite hydrogels. It also introduces its application progress in the adsorption of dyes or heavy metal ions in wastewater systems. Additionally, the challenges of the application of CNF-based hydrogels in wastewater treatment are also summarized and the future research directions of CNF-based hydrogels are pointed out. |
