Abstract:The effects of pre-hydrolysis conditions including solid-liquid ratio, time at maximum temperature and maximum temperature on the contents of main components of Thai eucalyptus and the content of carbohydrate in hydrolysate were investigated. The single factor method was used to conduct pre-hydrolysis experiments of eucalyptus, and the pre-hydrolyzed eucalyptus and pre-hydrolysate were analyzed. The results showed that when the solid-liquid ratio was 1∶6, at a maximum temperature of 160°C for 60 min, the effect of pre-hydrolysis was the best, the yield was 82.9%, α-cellulose retention rate was 90.4%, pentose removal rate was 61.6%, and total lignin removal rate was 35.4%. Xylose content in pre-hydrolysate was the highest, up to 72.2% of the total carbohydrate content.
