Abstract:Disc refiner is the key equipment of pulp and paper industry, due to the high speed, high temperature and high pressure environment of disc refiner, it is difficult to observe the fiber flow state in the refining zone with experimental method, and the research of refining mechanism becomes the difficult point of pulping and papermaking process. Aiming at the present situation of the fiber flow characteristics in disc refiner is difficult to detect, fiber particle trajectories in the rotation process were tracked and the micro mechanism of disc refiner was systematically studied by using the finite element analysis method of particle tracking. The effect of plate pattern on the fiber flow characteristics was verified and the flow characteristics of pulp under the conditions of straight bar, curve bar, less bar and more bars were compared and analyzed by changing the number and the shape of the bar. It was found that the fibers were flocculation in refining area. The residence time in refining zone of pulp fibers would increase therefore the refining quality improve when using spiral or curve bass,while the power consumption of disc refiner also increased. This paper provided a new approach for the study of the refining mechanism and lay the foundation for the optimization of the disc refiner's profile. |
