Abstract:The effects of α-amylase treatment on the degradation of starch compounds in waste paper pulp and the purification of slurry were studied. The results showed that after 60 minutes of treatment with α-amylase at pulp consistency of 10%, enzyme dosage of 0.5%, pH value of 6.5 and 70℃, the starch degradation rate was nearly 60%. Zeta potential absolute value and cationic demand of white water of waste paper pulp were reduced by 17.2% and 20%, which indicated that the pulp was purified. The strength of handsheet of pulp treated with α-amylase was slightly lower than that of the control sample, but the purified pulp was more sensitive to the application of cationic starch as an enhancer than the control group when the amount of cationic starch was less than 0.25%. |
