Abstract:A series of aqueous polyurethane emulsions with UV absorption properties (UVWPU) were successfully prepared by introducing self-made 2-hydroxy-4-octyloxybenzophenone (UV-531) as an anti-UV modifier of aqueous polyurethane. The structure and properties of the modified aqueous polyurethane were characterized by 1H NMR, FT-IR, DLS, UV-Vis. The UVWPU was applied to the surface of the paper to investigate its surface sizing performance. 1H NMR and FT-IR analysis showed that UV-531 was successfully introduced into the UVWPU molecular chain. When w (UV-531) = 2.0% (mass fraction), UVWPU particle size was 54.89 nm, UV absorbance was 0.48, increased by 585.7% compared with pure waterborne polyurethane. UVWPU had good surface sizing performance. When w (UV-531) = 1.0% (mass fraction), the maximum tensile index and folding endurance of sized paper could reach 50.7 N·m/g and 76 times respectively, and the whiteness loss could be reduced by 9.16%. |
