Abstract:This paper proposed a method of rapidly detecting chemical oxygen demand (COD) of wastewater with a portable paper-based device constructed by 3D printing. The detecting substrate was constructed by 3D printing technology and alkaline potassium permanganate was used as the chromogenic agent, the RGB values of the testing samples on the reaction site were collected with a mobile phone and were further analyzed by the image processing software of Image J. a COD detecting model was established based on the analysis .By ampling the effluent of the sequence batch reactor (SBR) from a paper mill, when the concentration ranged in 10~100 mg/L, a linear equation was established as follows y = 0.1732x - 6.1054 where y was the (R-G) value and x was the COD value, linear coefficient R2 was 0.9651, and the detection limit of COD was 1.0497 mg/L. The proposed method was easy to operate with a fast detection speed, and achieved the semi-quantitative COD measurement of wastewater. |
