| Abstract:Micro-silica mineral powder, calcium carbonate and talc powder were separately filled into the hardwood pulp, softwood pulp and deinked pulp to compare strength properties and printing properties of corresponding handsheets. The results showed that the effect of micro-silica mineral powder on strength properties of the paper was similar to that of talc powder and calcium carbonate. And strength properties of the paper using micro-silica mineral powder as filler were better when ash content was low. Due to the whiteness of micro-silica mineral powder, whiteness of filled paper decreased with the increase of micro-silicon mineral powder filler. Therefore, micro-silica mineral powder was suitable to be used as filler for the papers which do not require high whiteness. |
