Abstract:The retention and filtration performance of tobacco slurry adding cationized modified nanofibrillated cellulose(CNFC) with different size and charge were determined using Dynamic Drainage tester and turbidity tester. It was found that at the same charge density the length of CNFC had little influence on the retention of the slurry, while the filtration time was reduced. And the charge of nanofibers had positive effect on the retention and filtration of tobacco slurry, the retention and drainage of the slurry increased with increasing charge of CNFC.Taking CNFC-3(charge density +0.980 mmol/g) as an example, the retention and drainage performances of slurry increased with increasing CNFC-3 addition. The retention values of slurry and filler increased to 81.9% and 33.5% respectively, improved by 5.7 percentage points and 25.5 percentage points comparing with the slurry without addition CNFC-3, the mass of the filtrate increased by 85 g within 30 s when the dosage of CNFC-3 was 0-4%.And the cation demand of the filtrate dropped to 65 μmol/L from 110 μmol/L, and turbidity decreased by 532 NTU. |
