Abstract:Lignin, as an abundant and renewable biomass resource, has widely attracted attention.However, it has not been efficiently utilized.Preparation of nano-lignin from lignocellulosic biomass would potentially provide one novel solution for the high value-added application of lignin.This review focuses on the mechanical preparation methods of nano-lignin including high-shear homogenization, ultrasonic, ball milling and combinations of multiple methods, and the summary and prospect of its application in the field of UV protection, antibiosis, adsorption, nano-composites, and biological medicine, and so on.
